Description
The obverse features a faithful reproduction of Liberty with her flowing hair cascading behind her, symbolizing freedom and the spirit of a young nation. Surrounding the portrait are fifteen stars, representing the number of states in the Union at the time, while the date “1794” appears below. The outer ring displays the issuing country and specifications: “Niue Island,” “Five Dollars,” “2026,” “2 oz,” and “Ag 999,” together with the official coat of arms of Niue.
The reverse showcases the original Small Eagle design perched within a laurel wreath, surrounded by the inscription “United States of America.” The design faithfully captures the historic appearance of America’s first silver dollar. Around the rim, the modern inscription “Greatest United States Coins” identifies the piece as part of this prestigious collection, while a small U.S. flag at the bottom honors the rich heritage of American numismatics.
